Self Collared

Self-collaring in BDSM refers to an individual choosing to wear a collar as a symbol of their identity without a partner's direct involvement or instruction. This indicates that the individual in question is collared, but only to themselves. Not everyone who self-collars is Dominant or submissive. In fact, many self-collar as an indication that they are NOT in power exchange with anyone but their own self, and listen only to their own accountability/authority This self-collaring can even continue through established relationship dynamics if the individual chooses to do so. The removal of the self-collar is also only up to the individual and not their Dominant.
