Primary Partner

A primary partner usually describes a person's most central, committed, or prioritized relationship, whether emotionally, practically, or both. This term is most commonly used in polyamorous and non-monogamous communities to describe a partner who plays a key role in a person’s life. A primary partner may be someone you live with, share finances with, or make major life decisions with. They may or may not be the most sexually active partner, but they often hold relationship priority in terms of time, energy, or commitments.
