Platonic Crush

A platonic crush is a strong, sometimes intense attraction to someone that doesn't involve romantic or sexual feelings. It’s the desire to be close to someone, spend time with them, admire them, or build a meaningful connection, without wanting a romantic relationship or physical intimacy. It’s where you want to see the other person succeed and are there for them while having mutual respect, trust and support. People with a platonic crush may feel excitement, admiration, or affection toward someone in a way that resembles a romantic crush, but the feelings are directed toward friends and companions. Platonic crushes are common among all orientations but show up often in aromantic, asexual, queerplatonic, and relational anarchy communities, where non-romantic bonds are more likely to be viewed as important and valid forms of connection.
