Race Play

Play that involves special focus on ethnicity, race, and racial constructions/ stereotypes. Some players may engage in the use of slurs, symbolic behaviors, degradation, worship, or role-play to employ race in their expression of sexuality. Race play is highly controversial. Proponents argue that it allows for the exploration of deep-seated societal issues and personal fantasies within a controlled, consensual environment. Critics contend that it perpetuates harmful stereotypes and can reinforce systemic racism, even when all parties consent. Some terms that you may see in race play include: - Queen of Spades (QoS): A slang term for a woman who has a strong preference for Black male partners, sometimes discussed in kink or fetish contexts. The term is widely considered controversial and potentially offensive, as “spade” has been used as a racial slur. Use with caution. - Jack of Spades: A slang term for a man (often a non-Black partner) associated with or aroused by “Queen of Spades” dynamics. Like QoS, this term is controversial and may be offensive. - Black New World Order (BNWO): Focuses on the fantasy of black men holding sexual superiority and power over other races, particularly white people. It involves the intersection of sexual kinks with racial themes, often incorporating humiliation or submission and intersecting with other kinks such as cuckolding, sissy play, and alpha-beta dynamics. While some participants view it merely as a consensual, private sexual fetish, it is often criticized for promoting racist stereotypes and ideologies. These terms exist in some kink spaces, but many people avoid them due to their racial implications.
