Smart Ass Masochist

A Smart Ass Masochist (SAM) is a masochist with a razor-sharp tongue who will intentionally and consensually attempt to get a rise from their partner or top for the purpose of eliciting pain or a punishment. Although this definition is similar to a "brat"; the role can be differentiated by the level of intensity. A SAM is generally less interested in “funishment” and more likely to antagonize in exchange for the pain they crave. SAMs typically have pre-negotiated boundaries within their dynamic or scene. This allows them to be playful with their partner and to elicit a response or reaction in a way that some more high protocol-driven dynamics or scenes may not allow for. SAMs tend to be bottoms or submissives. Their primary motivator is usually a desire for a response or to get in trouble in a way that allows for pain or punishment to be administered to “correct” it. SAMs often partner with Sadists, Tops, or Dominants.
