Protocols

In BDSM, protocols are established rules or expectations for behavior between participants in a D/s dynamic or in certain settings. These rules can include (but are not limited to) things like using honorifics or specific titles to address a Dom or sub, adopting certain postures or positions, or performing pre-determined actions when in each other’s presence or at certain times. There are three levels of protocol, high, medium, and low, with high protocol involving highly ritualistic behavior and strict adherence/ enforcement.
