Emotional Support Human (ESH)

An emotional support human (ESH) is someone who provides consistent emotional care, grounding, and support - much like an emotional support animal, but in human form. They're a source of comfort, stability, and validation, especially during moments of stress, anxiety, or emotional turbulence. While this term is often used playfully or romantically, the role can also be serious, nuanced, and deeply meaningful in a close relationship, whether it's platonic, romantic, or otherwise.
