In kink contexts, a dogboy may participate in puppy play, a form of pet play where someone adopts dog-like behaviors such as loyalty, playfulness, seeking praise, or enjoying physical affection like petting or scratching. In these dynamics, the dogboy often interacts with a Handler, Owner, or Caretaker, often as part of a D/s dynamic. Outside of kink communities, the term can also appear in anime, cosplay, gaming, and online fandom spaces. In this context, a dogboy is typically a character or persona with canine features like dog ears, a tail, or other dog-inspired traits. In these settings, the term is usually about character design or aesthetic style rather than roleplay dynamics.
