Cattle Play

Cattle play is a type of roleplay where someone takes on the role or traits of livestock, usually focusing on obedience, routine, and being handled or directed by another person. The person, usually a submissive, takes on the role of a cow under the care and direction of a Farmer or Owner, usually a Dominant. Activities can include breeding, milking/lactation, disciplining, grooming, showcasing, or medical play in the form of vet checks. Cattle play is typically considered a form of pet play. Cattle play doesn’t always involve milk or lactation—that’s more specific to hucow play. While cattle play can involve many types of livestock dynamics, hucow play specifically centers on producing and being used for milk. ### Why People Are Into It People get into cattle play for many different reasons. Here are a few of the more common ones: ### Letting Go of Control Taking on a livestock role can feel freeing. Cattle don't make decisions. In cattle play, you just follow, respond, and exist in the role. ### Clear Structure and Expectations The dynamic often has simple rules and routines, which can feel grounding and easy to step into. ### Being “Owned” or Directed Some people enjoy the feeling of being handled, guided, or managed by someone else. ### Escape from Identity Stepping into a non-human role can create distance from stress, responsibilities, or self-image.
