Acrotomophilia is a sexual preference or fetish where someone is sexually aroused by people who have amputations. It often involves a fascination with their missing limbs or prosthetics. For some, the attraction exists mostly in fantasy (stories, porn, roleplay); others actively seek amputee partners. ### Origins of the Term The term comes from Greek roots, where "akron" means "extremity" or "limb," "tomos" means "cut," and "philia" means "love" or "attraction." ### Controversy Fetishizing a disability can be harmful, particularly if it reduces someone to only their disability instead of recognizing them as a whole person.
